Hello. I have built this website a million times, a million different ways. Still, I find, the story keeps changing. I can't pin down a single narrative. I can't build a straightforward website to tell a straightforward story. The story... eludes me. I'm not certain what it is.
What you are about to see are a series of "rooms." Each represents a different piece of me: a program I have built, an art project I have made, a class I have taught, a web project I have developed.
I know the rooms fit together. I don't yet know how. For now, at least, they are all just rooms... rooms that I love. I am glad for you to go wandering into them.
CADDY: Creative App Dev & Design for Youth
Professor Matt Dwyer
Professor LeenKiat Soh
Nov. 2016 - March 2017
Caddy was a project that was a collaboration with UNL CSE Professor Matt Dwyer and LeenKiat Son to coordinate an app development program for youth grades 3-8, utilizing UNL’s otherwise un-used tablets and computer lab.
My role was to create the website and promotional materials, and collaborate with UNL CSE undergrads to write the curriculum and teach the sessions.
The idea for CADDY came about from having participated in a Girl Scouts Summer App Development camp in 2016, and seeing both under-utilization of UNL student mentors, want for more coding opportunities from parents in the community, and opportunity to generate skills and income for myself and UNL students.
