The Castle
Curtains, iron rod, 2-sided projection
The castle is a foldable fabric and iron rod “dancing architecture” made for video projection (from both sides) to meet in the middle.
I originally welded the iron grid (from which the curtains hang) for a house party New Years installation.
On the frontside, a 20 minute video compilation of film clips is projected onto flat, semi-transparent curtains.
On the backside, an 11 minute video compilation of my own videos and coded videos projects onto narrow curtains meant to draw you within.
Windows cut into the curtains, semi-transparency, and projection mapping cause the two projections to meet and blend, different everytime.
For VJ installations, I replace the static looping video with my VJ system, a frontend web interface I manipulate on the fly.
